Biography
Alice Jean Hamman Dunbar, age 78, died Sunday, May 13 at her daughter’s residence.
She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on June 27, 1933, the daughter of Zura and Elsie (Davis) Dunno. On November 9, 1956 she married James Hamman, who preceded her in death on November 29, 1998. On January 25, 2003 she married Donald Dunbar who survives. She was a 1951 graduate of Van Wert High School and retired from Paulding-Putnam Electric Coop in 1994. She was a former member of Grover Hill Zion United Methodist Church and attended Zion Lutheran Church of Defiance. She was a Committee Person for Paulding County Democratic Party; secretary for Paulding County Crippled Children for 20 years; and secretary/treasurer for Paulding Lions Club. She wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona.
She is also survived by children: Korenia R. (Michael) Scott, Paulding, Eric (Angie) Hamman, Ft. Wayne Lynette Weible, Las Vegas, NV, Lynda Sheets, Wauseon, OH, and Kent Dunbar, Indianapolis; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Fran) Dunno, Ft. Wayne; and a special friend, Bonnie Kaemming, Defiance.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Hamman; brother, Frank Dunno, and a sister, Martha Heck.
Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Friday, May 18 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, Ohio. Burial will follow in Hedges Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 – 8PM Thursday, May 17 at Den Herder Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Friday.
Donations may be made to ALS Foundation or Zion Lutheran Church, Defiance.
