Opal Faye Ankney, age 90 died Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Paulding County Hospital, Paulding, Ohio.

She was born December 28, 1921 in Paulding, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Hoover) Glick. On June 16, 1940 she married Estel W. “Jim” Ankney, who preceded her in death on March 20, 2002. She was employed by the former Ben Franklin Store of Paulding, Ohio for 33 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Paulding and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Paulding County.

She is survived by two sons, R. Rex (Lula Mae) Ankney and Marv (Lori) Ankney, both of Paulding; a daughter, Melody J. “Mel” (Gary) Schultz, Findlay, OH; a sister, Maxine Hanenkratt, Cecil; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her prents; husband; five brothers, Olen, Roger, Dean, Russell, and Charles; and a sister Edna Schooley.

Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Tuesday, August 7 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paulding, Ohio. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding.

Visitation will be 2 – 8PM Monday, August 6 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
